Zenzele (Nguni word that means Do It Yourself) captures the essence of the rationale for the establishment of the Trust and underpins the principles of engagement which the Trust uses in its dealings with the various stakeholders.

The Zenzele Development Trust was established in 2009 by the MS Group of Companies and has been incorporated under the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act in South Africa. The Trust is classified as a Black Owned entity under the Act with broad based participation and the beneficiaries of the Trust are mainly from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Trust operates on a basis of fair exchange in all its dealings and accordingly commits to take full responsibility for its share of risk exposure in any venture in which it is an equity participant.
